CDT-300 DVD Transport

The popular CDP-300 set a new benchmark for DVD players, incorporating 1080p video, preview screen and touchscreen control. Its superb audio and video performance and state of the art design make it the perfect choice for reference home theater systems. The CDT-300 DVD Transport offers the same video performance and user interface but outputs purely digital audio, so does not require the balanced analog circuitry that distinguishes the CDP-300. This configuration is a cost effective way to achieve reference-system performance when digital audio surround decoding and D-to-A conversion can be properly performed by a top-quality surround sound processor, such as a Classé SSP.

For a complete description of the CDT-300's design features, please refer to the CDP-300 . The CDT-300 shares the same chassis, touchscreen control, transport mechanism, video processing, digital audio jitter-reduction circuitry and power supply as the CDP-300 DVD Player. Gone is the six-channel D-to-A conversion and analog output stage. The result is substantial cost savings for those who leave audio processing to their SSP. DVD-Audio may be down-converted to two-channel LPCM for output on any of the standard digital outputs. Alternatively, DVD-Audio may be output on HDMI, for processors such as the SSP-800 which will accommodate this new digital interface standard.

Audio

  • Digital outputs are available on IEC958 (SPDIF, AES/EBU and TOSLINK) and HDMI.
  • Audio from DVD playback is output on HDMI and as IEC958 (SPDIF, AES/EBU and TOSLINK) for decoding in a Surround Sound Processor.
  • DVD-Audio is output via HDMI. DVD-Audio output via IEC958 (SPDIF, AES/EBU and TOSLINK) is determined by disc authoring.
  • Audio and video are synchronized during DVD-Video playback.
  • Classé Audio's re-clocking circuit topology effectively attenuates clock jitter mechanisms that are present in most other DVD playback solutions.
  • Compatible with CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW,   MP3, WMA, dts-CD, Video-CD and S-VCD formats.

Video

  • Full implementation of all HDTV resolutions.
  • Analog video output on component at 480i, 480p, 576i and 576p resolutions. Standard Definition video available on S-video and composite.
  • Digital Video output on HDMI can be de-interlaced and scaled to the following resolutions: 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p.
  • Extensive digital video processing to reduce video "mosquito" noise, improve edge definition, adaptively control color/contrast ratios and improve chroma transient performance.

Control

  • Touchscreen user interface with video preview mode.
  • Bi-Directional RS-232 Control.
  • CAN BUS ports for inter-Classé component communication.
  • Rear panel IR and DC trigger sockets.
  • IR Remote control with backlight and Classé system Function Keys.
